It’s been a very busy few days in Miami with the arrival of the week-long art extravaganza “Art Basel – Miami Beach”. Between catching the incredible art collections, attending the fabulous parties and managing a full schedule of work commitments, it’s been a blur!
Yesterday, I checked-out the Piston Head show at 1111 Lincoln Road. Set in the Herzog & de Meuron designed car park, the show featured artist collaborations with various iconic cars, including the Damien Hirst Mini and my favourite, the Keith Haring Buick.
Later, I sat down for lunch at Casa Tua with the man responsible for bringing Art Basel to Miami, Chairman, Samuel Keller. Wearing his sky-blue, Cuban shirt and clear Ray Bans, Mr Keller was looking on-point and when he asked to try on my Miu Miu shades I knew I was in the company of one cool individual.
I picked his brains on some of my favourite works that I had seen at the Art Basel Preview, including this Richard Prince from his “Cowboy” series:
and this Keith Haring:
From there I dashed over to the Webster – my favourite boutique here in Miami – to choose an outfit for the night ahead. I fell head over heels for this slinky, patterned dress from SUNO, which is exclusive to the Webster.
I loved the cut, which fell below the knee and the prominent cut-out middle. The unusual, polychromatic pattern reminded me of Yayoi Kusama, making it seem particularly Art Basel appropriate!
Finally, I caught up with my girlfriends and we hit FDR at Delano. Check out these fabulous girls!
It was a great night but not a late one as I was up early for a shoot on the beach with the brilliant Raphael Mazzucco. We got some awesome shots that I can’t wait to share!
Now I’m exhausted and melting in this heat! What a life!
Be sure to check back next week, when I will be posting from New York!
