Happy bank holiday! I hope you’ve all had some well deserved rest and TLC this weekend – I’m currently in Ibiza getting a break from London and its less than desirable weather. There’s a new range in town that I couldn’t resist bringing along in my suitcase to pamper my tresses; here’s my review of the Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil products.
I know what you might be thinking – oil is the last thing you might want to add to your hair (oily = greasy), but the Bumble and Bumble range is enriched with six featherlight oils (coconut oil, argan oil, macadamia nut oil, sweet almond oil, safflower oil and grape seed oil) that nourish rather than slick hair to your scalp. I don’t usually like to use many products on my hair but I am sold on this range of oils! I tried out the classic Invisible Oil and the Invisible Oil Primer.
I’m not surprised that my hairdresser recommended the Invisible Oil as a finishing product; while I try my best to avoid curling tongs and have steered clear of straighteners since circa 2007 (eek!) even a blow dry can damage your hair. Fortunately, the Invisible Oil didn’t weigh down my hair at all, instead it tamed the little sun-induced frizz I had and left my hair feeling noticeably softer and shinier. I’ll be using this one again!
Usually, I’m a nourishing-shampoo-and-conditioner kinda girl – I like to keep it simple! – but I decided to give the Invisible Oil Heat/UV Primer a try. Between the sun, sea and chlorine my hair could sure do with the help! I liked the spray application as I could be in control of how much of my hair gets covered and how much product I use. After applying the primer to my hair damp and leaving it to dry naturally, it was easier to brush through and finally to style – no birds nest for me! Like applying makeup primer, it helped lock in my style without having to apply further products the next day and weighing down my hair – win!
Quick tip: The primer also comes in a travel size pack with the Invisible Oil Shampoo and Conditioner – a must for any of you lucky ladies who have a holiday booked!
