Hi guys, sorry I’ve been out of touch, if you’re following me on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook you’ll know that I’ve spent the past couple weeks busy in the South of France!
This year, I was privileged to be invited to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Notable for its incredible line-up of on-screen talent, as well as off-screen glamour, the festival is a highlight in every fashionista’s calendar.
However, as excited as I was to receive such a distinguished invitation it soon dawned on me that I was like Cinderalla without a dress – let alone dress-es – for the red carpet! Luckily, with enough talented friends – from designers to PR agents I managed to gather a range of outfits, which fitted into no less than seven pieces of luggage…
My good friend Ana Teixera de Souza of Sophia Kah, generously gave me the run of her showroom before I left, as did Christophe Guillarme in Cannes, while Matthew Williamson and Christian Dior also lent me gowns. For jewellery, I borrowed a combination of Cartier, Chopard and Boucheron – from both contemporary and vintage collections.
It was really an amazing experience, from watching the films with the actors & directors themselves, to the clamouring crowds outside and the bank of flashing photographers. While I couldn’t watch all the films, I particularly enjoyed Foxcatcher – starring Channing Tatum, who gave a superb performance.
MONACO GRAND PRIX
Once the red carpets had finally been rolled away and while the adrenaline was still pumping, my team and I left for Monaco and the F1 Grand Prix.
As guests of Netjets, I was joined by my brother, Michael and my friend, the glamorous host of Fashion TV, Hofit Golan to watch the race from the brand’s rooftop lounge. With no more red carpet appearances in sight, I was all too happy to let me hair down and wore a cute, simple outfit that took me from day into evening. The race celebrations went on until daybreak and it was great to see so many friends from around the world!
WORLD MUSIC AWARDS
I thought I’d seen the last of the red carpet for a while…that was until I was invited (quite last minute!) to the World Music Awards.
With the line up including Mariah Carey, Miley Cyrus, Jason Derulo and Leona Lewis – it was too tempting to pass up! By chance I managed to bump into my hair and make up artist from London, Brendan, who was there with Leona Lewis – it was fate! Cinderella must go to the ball! I found a dress from Balmain, which was a couple seasons old but a classic all the same – you can’t really go too wrong if you go with Balmain, Olivier Rousteing I think you would agree? – and off I trotted onto the red carpet! I caught up with lots of friends there and saw some amazing performances. Jason Derulo’s choreography was incredible!
The following day, I flew back to London – happy to be home but ready for the next adventure!
