Next week begins couture week in Paris and this year I’m very excited to attend the shows for all you fashionistas. I’ll be keeping you updated on all the front row faces and backstage gossip, here on EMMAMILLER.COM!
If my previous experiences at fashion-weeks-past are anything to go by, there’s a lot more to the week than just attending the shows. There is of course, lots of work to be done and fabulous parties to attend that will be keep me away from my hotel room and my necessary beauty sleep.
For survival, preparation is key, as is an arsenal of hero products. Here’s my how to guide to keep your head held *haute* for Haute Couture: Paris.
1) Front Runners
This year, fashion’s front runners have all ditched their sky high heels for something more practical. Make sure you aren’t left behind in either pair of these shoes – ideal for dashing between shows!
2) Late night, red eyes?
Burning the candle at both ends is common practice during fashion week but that doesn’t mean you can’t hide your sins with a little bottle of hydrating eye drops.
4) Don’t forget your shades!
As any fashionista will agree, squinting isn’t chic. Protect your eyes from the sun and the flashbulbs in this pair of blackout glasses from Thierry Lasry – I have a pair myself!
3) Save our Souls
When darkness falls and the parties begin you will be no doubt reaching for your Choos again. Make sure you take the pressure off by wearing these gel insoles, which come recommended from the models themselves!
5) Take note!
There’s so much to see and do during fashion week that it’s hard to keep track of what’s going on! Every fashion editor will have a stylish leather notepad to record all of their thoughts on the collections- and, of course, the pieces they will be snapping up when they hit the shops! I love the Symthson notebooks; the luxurious leather is definitely couture worthy and they come in a range of colours so you can match it to your outfit!
6) Ran out of juice?
We’ve all been there: you’re just about to take a snap on your phone and that ominous red bar appears. Thanks to new technology and some snappy colour-ways, it’s never been easier or more stylish to charge your phone whilst on the move. The Morphie is one of the best on the market, (I should know, I have two!) it fits like a second skin (if said second skin was slightly bulkier than the first), and will keep your phone protected in the case it takes a fall!
7) Hold it!
But where to keep all of these essentials? Sophie Hulme’s envelope bag comfortably fits an iPad inside and you’ll still have room for your beauty essentials. Plus, you can use the across body strap whilst travelling and detach it in the evening to transform it into a clutch – now that’s what I call my hero!
