As some of you may know already, I was lucky enough to attend Christian Dior’s Haute Couture show on Monday.
My day began with an appointment at the Dior showroom in Paris to be fitted for a dress – I chose an ice-cream pink mini dress with an embellished belt and paired it with a pleated floral skirt.
Upon arriving at the venue – the Musée Rodin – we were whisked through the gardens and into an incredible, mirrored rotunda, lined with thousands of white orchids. Inside, the hushed venue was filled with familiar faces with everyone from Jennifer Lawrence to Emma Watson in attendance.

The collection was offered in sets of eight to ten looks with each set influenced by a distinct époque – the eyelet embossed belt cinching an embroidered silk boiler suit was a particular highlight!
To open the show, Simons looked to the era of Marie-Antoinette, with a soft palette of light hues which were complimented by feminine full skirts, frothy hemlines and a touch of delicate embroidery.
The latter half of the offering went on to include richer tones; the jewel coloured flared trousers are definitely on my wish list and I’m already yearning for one of the floor length coats that were impeccably constructed at the Dior atelier. Mink coats were stripped of looking overtly opulent with simple styling, narrow proportions and flat shoes. Modern sky blue piping updated a flippy bustier dress and highlighted the boning rather than concealing it.
My favourite look? A candy blue silk dress that stood out in the midst of the stark white room – perfect for an summer soiree.
After the show, I was delighted to meet Raf Simons, the incredible designer behind Christian Dior backstage and was able to congratulate him on yet another exquisite season.
Stay tuned for more news and photos from my week in Paris!
