So this video is my healthy Autumn morning routine! With the colder weather and fewer daylight hours I like to make a few changes to my skincare, diet and exercise routine. Before I got into a routine I would really struggle with early mornings and when I had to wake up early for a meeting I would feel sluggish.
One day I decided to set myself a challenge for one week to go to bed at the same time (11pm) and wake up every morning at 6am The first few days were tricky, but with a no-phone in bedroom policy and laptop off at 10pm – I managed to do it! After a successful first week I decided to try another week and thats when I felt my body clock changed, I even found myself waking up before my alarm!
I must admit when it comes to Autumn/Winter it can be that little bit harder to wake up early, especially when it can be cold and dark when you wake. To combat this, I play a few mental tricks so I don’t sleep in:
1. I will have booked my workout class the night before and that means if I snooze I lose ££££!
2. I prepare my workout kit the night before – no excuses!
3. Breakfast will be a tempting smoothie, Acai bowl or chia seed pudding (see recipe below)
4. I grab a fun but strict workout buddy – someone who might never pick up my calls again if I don’t show up :p
My morning mantra is:
Wake up with determination, go to bed with satisfaction!
Chia Seed Pudding:
2- 3 tbsp Chia seeds
1 tsp Coconut oil (optional)
1 cup of Almond Milk
Toppings: Goji berries , blueberries, coconut flakes, cacao nibs, cashew cream
1 tsp Matcha Teapigs
1 cup of hot water
half a cup of warm Almond Milk
