Gold 001 by Pat McGrath

If you’re following fashion trends, you’ll no doubt know that gold is the colour on everybody’s lips…

It began during Paris Fashion Week when legendary make up artist, Pat McGrath held a guerrilla style product launch in the Tuileries, daubing the lips, brows and eyes of supermodels and passersby alike, in her exclusive pigment Gold 001.

Since then, a glittering countdown has appeared on McGrath’s website, and her social channels have been regularly updated with gold-themed posts to both bait and inspire her followers. That’s not to mention Allison Sarofim and Stuart Parr, who kept the theme going with their annual Halloween bash; this year, guests were encouraged to seek inspiration from Gustav Klimt and Roll With Gold and Soul. Hence, the new flood of metallic-hued Instagrams, which left the rest of us shimmering with envy.

Well, McGrath’s product officially goes on sale in 2 days time: Thursday, October 29th. Pat announced the release via Instagram, captioning her post “Beyond excited to finally reveal the limited-edition #Gold001 from Pat McGrath Labs!! A genius multi-use gold pigment; apply as a shadow, gild brows and lips, or buff into skin, this product knows no limits. Only 1,000 gold pigments produced. AVAILABLE OCTOBER 29, 2015.”

However, as exciting as it sounds, with only 1,000 pieces being released, it’s likely a lot of us will be left disappointed. With that in mind, I’ve put together a gold-themed shopping post to help you fake it, until McGrath makes (more of) it.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE GOLD TREND! Specially with winter approaching, golden tones always adds the extra spice you need to warm the darker colours and set the tone for the festive season….
Really liked your suggestions and the hint about Pat McGrath!

very good post, such a shame though that I’m not so bold to wear gold! Any suggestions for girls who are not brave enough to rock such strong looks?
