Let’s Get Physical

Last week came the news that one of my favourite online fashion destinations, Net-A-Porter, is launching a sportswear equivalent of their website – Net-A-Sporter. I’m a huge running enthusiast and the chance to see an edited selection of luxury athletic apparel is very exciting. In lieu of the launch, here’s my sportswear favourites for you to browse whilst we wait for Net-A-Sporter to go live.

Stella McCartney for Adidas

The first major designer brand to combine sportswear with fashion was Stella McCartney. Since its inception, the offering has increased rapidly, combining the designer’s celebrated ready-to-wear with pioneering performance textiles and innovative functionality, such as breathable fabrics and Climachill technology. The collection is a go-to for any girl that indulges in a little physical activity.

Lucas Hugh

This brand boasts the likes of Elle MacPherson and Sienna Miller among it’s in-the-know fan base. Featherweight materials and bold graphic prints make sure you can keep your cool whilst working out and clever details such as built in headphone outlets make the pieces practical. If there was one collection that might persuade you to join the gym, this is it

Monreal London

If you’ve been following Wimbledon like me, you may be feeling inspired to try your hand on the court this summer! Of course, you’ll need a perfect outfit and Monreal London is definitely your best bet. Fluro piping and flattering cuts will only compliment your tennis-toned physique. That’s game, set, match!

Perfect for a day in the gym, Bodyism was developed by James Duigan – trainer to Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Lara Stone to name just two of his illustrious client list! The activewear range is at the height of technical perfection, combining tailored cuts and state-of-the-art fabric. Photographic prints push sportswear from drab to exciting and with a collection that caters to every exercise type, what’s there to lose?

If you’re heading to the beach this summer, there’s no excuse not to try surfing. A great upper body exercise, this sport is all about having fun whilst pushing your body to its max. And now there’s no reason not to combine fashion with functionality with a rash guard from critically acclaimed New York brand, Pret-A-Surf.

Let me know what brands you love in the comments below!
