13:00 – After the Preen show there was just enough time to change looks before skipping across town for Matthew Williamson.
I’d been itching to wear my sky blue Balmain jacket for a while now – but the New York heat simply didn’t permit heavy leathers! A boxy jacket needs something streamlined underneath so I teamed it with a sleek floral crop top and a leather pencil skirt. To finish, I added cool, monochromatic accessories for a little something eye-catching!

The collection was inspired by Williamson’s travels around the globe and was punctuated by masterful embroidery and embellishment. Some looks were particularly spectacular with gorgeous sequin appliqué and playful tropicana prints. The silhouette, for the most part was fairly demure, but the opening looks plunged to the navel, while a smattering of flamenco-inspired hemlines added some racy appeal. My favourite looks? It has to be the Bali print cocktail dress with its dainty straps (above, right) and the emerald embroidered trouser suit (above, left) – a two-piece my wardrobe definitely needs!
