Saving the best to last, my final show of London Fashion Week was Tom Ford. Although I was pretty exhausted from Marchesa the night before, and a full three outfit changes that day, I set out to Vincent Square in Westminster for the 7pm show time.
I opted to wear an all black ensemble, punctuated by a flash of subtle colour and finished with killer accessories.
Having fallen in love with this lace-panelled skirt from Topshop Unique, it was a no-brainer when it came to what to wear. Leaving the skirt to take centre stage, I kept the rest of the look simple with a cropped leather jacket and a wide brimmed hat.
The showspace was presented immaculately – as can only be expected from Tom Ford – with grey suede sofas, marked by personalised name cards and an all black, lacquered runway. The extraordinarily proportioned models stalked the space in sky-high, platform clogs, with Kohl rimmed eyes and dishevelled hair. The dark, sensual designs were reminiscent of Ford’s early days at Gucci and Saint Laurent with lace, leather and lamé being the fabrics of choice, as seen in a series of black, gold and transparent looks. But what had everyone talking after the show? The nipple pasties…
My favourite pieces were the cut-out leather dress (below, left) and the gold embellished look as seen on Jamie Bochert (below, right).
