There’s always something special about London Fashion Week and it’s not just that us Brits have a very particular sense of style and forward thinking design, but rather because it’s that I’m very much at home and there’s no more living out of suitcases – at least until Paris!
Day II of London Fashion Week came quicker than I imagined, and at 9am on Sunday (Oh, I know! Fashion doesn’t believe in lie-ins) I found myself at Westminster City College for the Preen by Thornton Bregazzi show. I was lucky enough to be invited backstage beforehand to see everything in action – hair, makeup and final fittings. Here’s what I wore:
I decided to brighten up my morning by wearing a gorgeous silk-satin skirt from the label in a distinctive orange print. Pairing it with contrasting green heels and a fishnet top, I finished the look with my matching handbag. Thanks to Stylist Magazine for including me in their Best of London Fashion Week street style in this outfit, check it out here!
The show itself was a sensory overload with lashings of stripes, digital florals, with multicoloured fringe and lace, all in a rich Masai-inspired palette. The varsity inspired wrap body con dress was a clever play on the classic sporting v-neck and a certain lace embellished shirt dress is sure to go to the top of many a fashionista’s wish list. What more could we expect from the design duo, known for their experimental use of prints?
