LFW - Outfits Collage - Low res

Emma Gray, Women’s Editor of HuffPo gave us a whole new reason for self-love this week with: ‘34 Tweets Nail Being A Grown-Ass Woman With A Job’. One of the quotes that is most relevant here is an ‘excuse’ from one #Girlboss: ‘Sorry I’m late, I couldn’t figure out a good time to come out of the revolving door’. Ever had that problem? I’m sure you can relate. After reading, not only did I feel a whole lot better about myself it also gave me the impetus to wrap up a slightly delayed blog post. Now with the revolving door firmly behind me, I’m ready to share my wrap up of LFW.

I love good ol’ blighty and after a 10 day stint in sub-zero temperatures (looking at you, NYFW) there’s nothing better than coming back home to a nice cuppa and my own bed! However, there are a few more reasons why London Fashion Week is one of my favourites (not biased at all, not one bit):

  1. I get to sleep in my own bed (oh did I mention that already? Ok well it counts twice! Excuse me, sleep is a luxury!)
  2. I have access to my ENTIRE wardrobe
  3. No, I didn’t have to retrieve my clothes from a suitcase only to find they have more wrinkles than a Shar Pei (cute on the dog, not on me).
  4. Unlike New York, it rarely snows in London (check out my NYFW post  to see just how unprepared I was!)
  5. In the words of ManRepeller’s Leandra Medine, ‘It’s much more relaxed than NY, not quite as serious as Milan and it certainly doesn’t have the gravitas that Paris (has)…’
  6. My city, my rules. I know all the best places to go and more importantly, where to avoid…If you don’t believe me check out My London Hotspots
  7. LFW is home to some of my favourite designers: Erdem, Burberry, Christopher Kane, Peter Pilotto and Mary Kataranzou
  8. It also plays host to some of the best up and coming designers: Marques’Almeida, Toga, Natasha Zinko etc.
  9. I don’t have to worry about finding power adaptors – the struggle is all too real.

Now for the outfits, let me know which look is your favourite in the comments box below. Remember to leave your Instagram handle or blog address so I can like and comment on your pictures!

  • Mark

Hey Emma! Love the blog, and I like your (biased) reasons for LFW being your fave – can’t argue with those! 🙂 My vote for the day outfit is number 2, with my evening vote going for number 1. But to be honest you’d look fantastic in a bin liner….hmmm…food for thought? ;-P

    • Emma Miller

Hey Mark! Haha! 🙂 I should definitely try out the bin liner look, I think you’re on to something there Mark! I could make a video: ‘3 ways to transform your bin liner into a killer look’ Now THAT has the makings of a viral video ;p

      • Mark

Well I’m looking forward to the ‘viral’ bin liner! 🙂 Although I’d like to change my vote to the lace number you’re wearing today on Snapchat. Seriously hot! Keep up the great blogs, videos, and just keep being you, you’re fantastic 😉 x

  • Realist Soul

Hello Emma! Look number two is really awesome, but I’m going with look number four! I like the color contrast of the conventional black and white with that splash of red. For your evening outfit, I love the second look. You look so beautiful in such bold and vibrant colors.

    • Emma Miller

Hey! Happy you like the looks 😉 I often mix up monochromatic looks with more colourful ones! The last look was a ‘Funfair’ themed party so thats why I chose that dress 🙂 x

  • Arlene Burns

Wowser love the multi colour dress but do like the black blouse with the lace :-0 hope you are well, just catching up with emails at work, Majorca was 2 days of sun and then cloudy but we managed to do lots of travelling around xx

    • Emma Miller

Arlene! Boxer burns! :)) Ahh but you have to choose just one! 😉 Happy you had fun in Majorca! Tweet me your pics! I’m in need of a relaxing beach holiday! 🙂 Thanks for always taking the time to comment, lots of love! xx

      • Arlene Burns

Ha yes the Boxer Burns nickname came from when I used to do kickboxing. Multi coloured dress then 🙂 Chris took all the photos he is still to send me via email you know men take forever to do anything! Set the time out and away you go for a relaxing holiday, fit in some swimming and a spa. Have time off work in November, we might come to London for a weekend if Chris isn’t working on someone’s house. Lots of Love xx

  • Greta Hollar

All these looks are major but I’m loving the fringe mini skirt! Amazing!
