The new Mademoiselle Prive exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery in London celebrates the charismatic history of Chanel, from it’s couture beginnings with Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel to its present day powerhouse status under Karl Largerfeld.
Along with other ambassadors and friend’s of the brand, my brother and I were invited to attend the opening night soiree: first exploring the exhibition before heading to the upstairs bar for cocktails and performances by Vincent St James and Jamie Bochert.
Spanning three floors of the Saatchi Gallery, as well as the gardens outside, the exhibition presents a selection of Chanel’s haute couture pieces alongside a reissue of the brand’s high jewellery collection, “Bijoux de Diamants” – the only jewellery ever created by Coco Chanel in 1932. From the present day, there are a series of portraits, each photographed by Karl Lagerfeld, that include Julianne Moore, Vanessa Paradis, her daughter Lily Rose Depp and Cara Delevingne – all of whom attended the opening night!

Many of the rooms featured beautiful illustrations and projections that captured the imagination and irreverence that’s key to the brand’s enduring popularity.

Not sure if that’s my little bro, or a young Tom Selleck.

Featuring slot machines from the Chanel casino-themed Haute Couture show, I was disappointed to discover they were just props.

But, like seriously what do I win?!

There are plenty of picture taking opportunities, including in the Coco-inspired indoor garden

Wearing Three Floor with a divine, sparkly Chanel clutch – sadly, just on loan – along with a pair of classic black pumps!

I was as shocked as she was – someone tell Drake, the club turned up on a Monday!
Until next time!
