New Year’s Eve is one of those nights where you’re either having the time of your life in the most fabulous outfit at THE party of the year, or you’re left questioning – did I really put on a bra for this?

With so much at stake, your New Year’s Eve requires a little organisation or at least a contingency plan, which in this case is: whatever happens, at least you can love your look!

1. A SHOWSTOPPING OUTFIT

There’s no better way to celebrate NYE than wearing a standout dress. I love to play with textures: sequins, velvet, silks and lace and I’m not afraid to wear all at once – because if not on New Year’s when else? For me, I’ll either take the plunge with a deep-v neckline or go bold with a thigh high split dress. Choose something that fits your personality and your body type, my hot tip? Don’t wear anything, just because it’s trending. Confidence is key!

2. SHOES THAT SPARKLE:

If you thought your shoes should play second fiddle to a standout dress – you’re wrong. On the biggest night of the year, anything less than copious amounts of glitter and sequins is slumming it. Whatever it is, boots, stilettos, platforms, sandals, pumps or sneakers pick a pair with that WOW factor. I know what you’r thinking – will I ever wear these again? I think you can. Pair them with a basic sweater and jeans for a fun new spin on an everyday outfit.

3. NAIL IT ON NEW YEARS:

December 31st is not the night for a sub-par mani, in fact New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to go all out and try that latest nail trend you’ve been obsessing over! Iridescent foils, anyone? If the night goes to pot at least you’ll have nails to die for and that’s worth an Instagram pic right there – #blessed #nailedit)

4. HAIR THAT GLITTERS
We’ve been obsessed with glitter throughout 2016, so what better way to see off the year than adding a little to our tresses? It’s been THE hair trend of the year, worn by everyone from Rita Ora to Miley Cyrus. If glitter isn’t your thing try an effortless style such as this one. NYE is about having fun so lay off a little on the hairspray and create a relaxed look that you won’t have to worry about!

5. NEW YEAR, NEW YOU, NEW SCENT?

So you’ve got your look down, the outfit, the hair, the nails and the shoes but wait, something’s missing? You feel a little naked. The final touches are often the most important and for me this couldn’t be more true. I’m quite particular when it comes to perfume – I don’t like anything too strong or too sweet.

For me, the Gucci Bamboo fragrance is the one scent I can wear at any time. It has a unique mixture of Sandalwood and Vanilla notes, which give depth to the lighter, floral top notes of Bergamot, Lily and Ylang-Ylang. The texture of the scent evokes elegance, strength and femininity – characteristics I think we all hope to see more of in 2017!

What I particularly love about this scent is its versatility. From experience, NYE celebrations start early and finish late (or should I say early – the next day) and I need a fragrance that lasts. Thankfully, this perfume actually transforms from a lighter, floral scent to a deeper, woody fragrance throughout the day – making it the perfect accessory to take you from day to night.
