If you have been following my Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat recently you’ll have noticed that I’ve been attending quite a few festivals. This summer alone, I’ve hit Coachella – twice! – Main Square Festival in France, followed by Glastonbury and now Reading. Call it a mid-20s crisis or a rebirth but I think I’ve finally caught the festival ‘bug’.
The best part? The buzz begins long before you even get to the campgrounds. What to wear? Something fab! What if it rains? It will. Does that mean I should dress appropriately? HECK, NO! And finally, the important, existential questions like is there such a thing as too much glitter?
One thing I’ve had to learn the hard way, is that heels and festivals do not mix – try as I might to ‘just throw on my heels and stretch my legs’ there is nothing cute about blisters or whingers. Do you and your friends a favour and wear a pair of boots. What about wedges? Seriously. Just say NO!
My Reading 2015 highlights? Watching Jamie T from side of stage, dancing in the rain to Royal Blood, drinking homemade cocktails from Costa Coffee cups, crashing backstage for Kendrick Lamar and finally bringing the weekend to a close: singing along to Don’t Look Back into The Sun with The Libertines. WHAT A WEEKEND!
I’d love to hear if any of you went to Reading Festival also? Or any other festivals this summer? Share your festival experiences – the good the bad and the ugly – in the comments below. I want to hear them!
